1881 - Referendum organized by the Austrian estate for the foundation of the Iron Plants

1884 - Starting of the first blast furnace

1919 - Iron Plants Hunedoara are transfered to the Romanian estate

1927 - 1937 - development of the pig iron processing sector

1938 - 1941 - construction of the Martin Steel Plant together with 800 mm Rolling Mill

1958 - 1000 mm Rolling Mill

1968 - 1300 mm Rolling Mill

1998 - Continuous Casting start-up

2002 - EAF no 3 - 100 t

2004 - April - privatization of the unit from the Romanian Estate through acquisition by LNM Holding, transformed with ISPAT in Mittal Steel.

2006 - Mittal Steel and Arcelor, first two producers of steel are merging in the new ArcelorMittal - world leader on the steel market, with headquarter in Luxembourg. The name of the unit becomes ArcelorMittal Hunedoara S.A.

2008 - July - investments program approval, subsequently stopped because of crisis

2009 - December - investment approval for the new Rolling Mill

2010 - Start-up to the investment works at the Heavy Rolling Mill

2012 - Finish the modernization of new Rolling Mill and start-up of the hot rolled long profiles compliant with EU norms
